December Micro-Blogs: Worst Phil in America

December 3, 2015 Leave a comment

I’m stuffing my face with combination fried rice while watching this Worst Cooks in America show.

Flashback to when I was shoving 7-Eleven egg rolls into my mouth while watching the entire Netflix collection of What Not to Wear.

See, the Phil from five weeks ago would be pretty damn happy right now.

But now I’ve got a decision to make.

Worse, I’ve got a situation where there’s no decision to be made.

*nibbles on some shrimp*

I’ve got to be a better cook than that.

Not Even a Micro-Blog, Just Dicking Around

This evening at work was less terrible than it could have been. It was one of the dirtiest clients I ever deal with, but it wasn’t on deadline, so I was able to drag my feet a little.

Now I’m at Gathering Grounds, drinking what I believe is non-caffeinated tea. But what if there’s two kinds of the peppermint tea and they gave me the default and the default has caffeine? Further investigation is required.

November Micro-Blogs: PJ Skidoo’s

I’ve only been here like an hour. Feels like it’s been a while.

My constant companions have been these three older men drinking at the front of the bar. Now I’ve whipped out my wireless keyboard. They probably think I’m a terrible portent of the future.

I’m trying to drink just enough to get sleepy, but then have my sleep interrupted, so I can wake up and make good on my plans with a friend.

That can’t be healthy.

That can’t be healthy.

This nocturnal job has got to end.

November Micro-Blogs: Nine Hundred Dollars

I put the pen to paper and came out with a number.

$900.

Somehow, even when I try to create an “extra food” and “random” category of expenses, I’m still wasting $900 a month.

How? In what? Why am I so terrible?

This must not stand.

Franz Liszt is banging a piano in my ears. There’s a group of retired white women making holiday crafts in the meeting room next to me at the community center. Once again, I am shocked at how much time I wasted. I am shocked at how much waste has been involved in my whole life thusfar.

November Micro-Blogs: The Spy at the Coffee Shop

November 11, 2015 Leave a comment

November 11.

I’m at Gathering Grounds, the coffee shop formerly known as Saxby’s. I’m using a wireless Nook keyboard to type this entry on my phone’s WordPress app.

That sounds like a good set-up to a spy novel. It makes me wish I could pretend like I’m in danger here. That there’s some urgency to my words.
